Love Shop Blog: Canada’s 3 Best Nude Beaches – And What To Bring
After a long dreary winter, summer is finally here Canada!
That means it’s prime time to check out the coolest and sexiest beaches in our great country, which also includes leaving the kids, bathing suits, and tan lines behind and discovering some of the best nude beaches in Canada!
With dozens of perfectly legal nude beaches across the country, here’s a list of three of our favourites, and a few tips on what to pack in your bag, now that you don’t need to bother packing all that clothing….

  • Hanlan's Point Beach, Toronto, Ontario
Hanlan's Point is one of those local spots that makes “The Six” soooo damn sexy and special. Located on the Toronto Island and well-maintained by the City of Toronto's Parks Department, the southern portion of Hanlan's Beach has been officially designated as a sandy, clothing-optional beach for 15 years now.
Pros of Toronto’s Clothing Optional Beach:
  • Close to the city, yet you feel you are a world away
  • Great community atmosphere
  • Relaxed atmosphere (people drink and smoke on this beach)
  • Water quality is often the cleanest anywhere in Toronto for swimming
  • Great sunset views
  • Snack bar and washrooms located close to beach
  • Relatively shallow, which means you can walk out about a hundred feet before the water would likely be over your head
How to get there:
Take the ferry at Jack Layton Ferry Terminal, located behind the Westin Harbour Castle on Queen's Quay. (Walk or take streetcar from Union station). Make sure you get o the Hanlan's Point Ferry, as there are three drop off points on the island. Once you arrive, follow the crowd to the beach. The beach is mainly frequented by gay men, but there are some straight couples as well. Great spot to chill on the beach without those pesky tan lines!

  • Oka Park, Quebec
Say au revoir to your clothing and inhibitions at this beautiful nude beach located on the shore of the Lac des Deux Montagnes. Locally referred to as “Okapulco,” this is one of the best-known clothing optional beaches in Quebec. Complete with restaurants, a boutique, an ice cream stand, volleyball courts, changing rooms, showers, and lifeguards perched in chairs surveying swimmers. Rentals include canoes, kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, and bicycles. There are also hundreds of campsites here in a forest of oak and pine, so if you decide to stay for the night with your special someone (or hey, even by yourself) why not bring one of The Love Shop’s EXCLUSIVE travel toys or bags along, filled with some of our amazing TW Trade products for couples and singles alike.

  • Wreck Beach, Pacific Spirit Regional Park – Vancouver, British Columbia
The grandfather of clothing-optional beaches in Canada—and the only one besides Toronto’s Hanlan Point where nudity is legal—Wreck Beach is North America’s longest naturist beach located on the edge of the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Pacific Spirit Regional Park. The busiest nude beach in Canada, despite the 500+ steps to get down to the beach. However, it’s important to include that it does face west and gets sun all through the day – so make sure you pack lots of sunscreen for those “sensitive areas.”
If you’re headed to one of these clothing optional beaches above, or wondering what to pack on your next naturist resort vacation, here’s a short list of some things to take:
  • Lots of sunscreen
  • Sarong
  • Hat
  • Jewellery
  • Footwear
  • Insect repellant
  • An open mind
  • Self confidence
  • A smaller suitcase
And if you’re staying overnight, make sure to bring along your favourite Love Shop vibrator, dildo, toy cleaner, and lube.
Thankfully we’ve come a long way from the 1900s where men and women were covered from head to toe, even on the beach. If you’ve never been to a nude beach and are contemplating why you should check out one of The Love Shop’s top three favourite nude beaches in Canada, here are a few reasons.
When you bare it all in public, it means practicing some serious body acceptance – not only of your body, but also the bodies of others. You may suddenly realize, “hey, my penis isn’t really that small,” “my breasts really aren’t that uneven,” or “my birthmark doesn’t look so strange after all.”
Everyone’s body looks normal, natural and BEAUTIFUL – a big relief from the ‘perfect’ bodies we’re used to seeing in popular culture. So, go out there, get wet, and get NAKED!
